Snow day: Free winter activities in Salt Lake City (video)

The Downtown Traveler editorial team (that’s me and Jake) narrowly escaped the East Coast snow storm. We left JKF airport the day after Christmas, just a few hours before it was closed for the blizzard. We’re reporting from Salt Lake City, Utah— where several feet of snow is no cause for panic.

We may have missed “Snowmageddon 2010” in Manhattan but we’ve had our share of snow time. In the past week we’ve gone sledding, cross-country skiing and trekking through Salt Lake City’s public parks.

  1. Leslie, unfortunately the Birkebeiner 2011 is closed to new participants, but if you work on that style I could definitely see you making strides for 2012.

    • Thanks Ted! I think my form was quite good for a beginner 🙂 Sadly, there was no mattress to rest on in the park…

Excellent video! Who’s that dude going off that insane jump in an inner tube and sledding down those stairs in such an extreme fashion? He must be pretty cool, brave, and courageous.
