Top art trends from Armory Arts Week 2012 (photos)

Art lovers flock to New York City every March for Armory Arts Week, an annual event that showcases the work of emerging and established artists. Consisting of a dozen art fairs, each with its own mission, Armory Arts Week can be overwhelming for a first-time visitor.

About Armory Arts Week

The main attraction, the Armory Show, features the most established artists and galleries; the Volta NY Show is a bit more intimate but still the domain or art world insiders; the Fountain Art Fair is fun and funky, attracting unpretentious street artists and other emerging talent; the PooL Show‘s hotel setting lets visitors get up close and personal with artists; and newcomer the Spring/Break Art Show is getting raves from artists and critics alike.
