Until I read this article, I had never considered a vacation in Aruba. Now, it’s definitely on my list!

The beaches are beautiful! I’ve never seen such calm, turquoise water.

I always thought of Aruba as just casinos and beaches, but obviously there is a lot more in Aruba to enjoy. What’s inside the Pastechis?

The pastechis I had were filled with cheese, but meat fillings are also available. They are incredibly tasty!

Interesting background of the local expert. Like the idea of having the locals give advice. Nice article!

Thanks for the comment Krista! It brings back the memories for me too. Now that it’s snowing constantly in NYC, I miss Aruba!

Great post and interview. I can just taste all of the scrumptious dishes now! I’ve been to Aruba many years ago and I have to admit, there’s nothing quite like it and its beaches in the world!

This is such a great interview and very USEFUL. I have been reading lots of blogs about aruba to give me ideas how to plan my upcoming trip and i must say i have not been impressed. All i wanted was ideas of where to socialize with the local and lil inside on lil getaway from all the tourist spots for a day even though it seems to be unavoidable from all my readings. Your article got me more excited about my upcoming trips in 3weeks. I cannot wait to enjoy ARUBA. please feel free to email me any more tips you might have on Aruba. Thank you so much for this interview. Quick question what kind of music does the locals listen to do?

Thanks for your comment! For more Aruba tips, follow the Aruba Marriott on Twitter (@ArubaMarriott). I know Keirsin has been listening to Carnival music. Perhaps other readers have music suggestions 🙂

I asked @ArubaMarriott on Twitter and have an answer for you!

      “currently it’s Aruba’s carnival music like: http://youtu.be/AYTlUXABct8 or http://youtu.be/N-y349brTbo.”
