This contest is now closed. Congrats to winners Anthony C. and Anne R.!
No matter how old we get, we still love a good scare. Whether it’s watching a horror movie in the dark or riding the newest roller coaster, freaking ourselves out is the surest way to feel like a kid again.
With that in mind, we’re excited to offer our latest contest!
Don’t miss this chance to win 2 free tickets (a $70 value) to New York City’s leading haunted house.
Hurry– the contest ends on Tuesday, October 11th!
The prize
Two lucky readers will each receive two general admission tickets to Nightmare: Fairy Tales Haunted House, located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Known as New York’s most horrifying haunted house, Nightmare prides itself on bringing our darkest fears to life. This year’s theme– “Fairy Tales”– doesn’t disappoint.
Creator Timothy Haskell turns classic fables into a gruesome, interactive experience for visitors. When you are handed a blindfold at the entrance, you know you’re in for a wild ride!

Oddly enough, Cinderella. I think mostly, because I always envision the Roald Dahl version where the step-sisters get their toes chopped off for trying to fit into the glass slippers

The Red Shoes by Andersen. A girl chopped off her feet to get rid of red shoes and the shoes continued to dance…

I think that Hansel & Gretyl is scary. I mean a cannibal witch?? AWESOME!!!!

Rumplestiltskin was always a creepy fairy tale to me. The thought of a little goblin coming to steal away your first born child was always an unsettling thought.

Without a DOUBT, it’s the Headless Horseman! I’ve never visited that area, since I just moved to the east coast this year, but I want to still check it out!!! Just a little nervous haha

I agree the creepy person in the mirror stories are what totally freaks me out. i.e. bloody mary, candyman…etc.
This especially after watching a scary movie, I’m just compelled to say it.
